We as an American society have totally reversed our thinking and now demonize those who work hard and become successful. We want to punish those who earn a lot and redistribute the wealth to those who don't. Barack Obama promises to tax those who make more than $250,000 very heavily because they are "too wealthy." Who is the government to decide this? Nationally syndicated radio talk show host and Fox Business Network TV's Dave Ramsey weighs in hard.http://www.daveramsey.com/Read the full transcript here:http://www.daveramsey.com/etc/cms/butt_scratching_and_bass_fishing_10192.htmlc?ictid=sptlt

Dec 2, 2008 - "Those...corporations (whose) stocks are held in mutual funds and retirement funds that help many people."In order to protect the profits of their shareholders, a corporation today is as likely as not to try and renig on its financial commitment to its employees. We've come a long way from the days of Henry Ford. Ford wouldn't recognize the actions of some of today's American coporations.

bapyou Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - A man I know worked all of his life for the same corporation. When he was in his sixties - and one year away from retirement - he was fired. This means that he cannot - and never has - collected a dime of retirement money. He was fired to save the shareholder's profits. The man now has new career working as a Santa Claus. Seasonal work to be sure.

bapyou Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - So when you write "The (corporations) that provide...retirement funds that help many people"...please tell this to my friend and not to me. I will give you his contact information if you'd care to communicate with him.

truthforamerica Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - The whole "stay in Iraq 100 years" is a distortion of the left. He was talking in the context of how long we would stay there. We are still in countries like Japan after we fought there. We have bases all around the world where we have had conflict and that was what he was talking about. Get your facts straight.

bapyou Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Well, yes, we have bases around the world. We are an imperial nation. This is what imperialists do. Also, you neatly sidestep the many other points I've made here. You're good at side-stepping.

Licmycat Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Yeah, uh-huh. But you got no problem with most of the taxes being paid by the middle-class while u rich bst*ds gather up gov. grants, subsidies, ect; and rip them off on taxes. Plssss......

truthforamerica Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - That comment shows how ignorant you are. The bottom 50% of income earners only pay 3% of the tax load. The Earned Income Tax Credit is a handout by the government that you probably get. Most of the taxes paid by the middle class......you are a moron.

kuhchicken Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Amen! Kudos to you, truthforamerica, for posting this. Hurray for Dave Ramsey! This message needs to get out loud and clear or the socialist agenda mongers will surely take over this great country. I hope it is not too late, but we are in a seriously leftward shift.

hiimgaymolly Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I work hard & get little pay. My husband works harder yet & gets paid squat. People make 3-5 times what I get paid for doing nothing but butt scratching. They can afford the Bass Fishing trips we can't. We live pay check to pay check. We don't have time for bass fishing. The government shouldn't have to help the poor. These top heavy corporate guys should spread the wealth. Churches should stop building crystal cathedrals and help the poor. That's their job, not the governments.

truthforamerica Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - If you want to earn more, then do what you have to do to reach that goal. Live on a budget, get more education, work smarter...whatever needs to be done. If you shoot at nothing, you will hit it every time. Dave Ramsey's total money makeover is the best plan to help you from living paycheck to paycheck. Forcible taking money from the wealthy and redistributing it to the poor is socialism. They should be able to give their money of their own free will.

yoursecretnemesis Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I absolutely agree that money should not be taken from the rich out of "envy.". However, I fundamentally disagree that taxes should be raised on every income bracket evenly in the event of a tax increase. Also, we have an economy that is 12 trillion dollars in the hole with China holding about 1/3 of that debt; what do we do to eliminate the deficit? Cut government spending? Yes...but that won't solve all the problems (maybe with no war expense it would help, but that's another can of worms)...

yoursecretnemesis Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - The only other alternative is a tax increase on the American people. If taxes are raised across the board, then you have people who are already struggling hit rock bottom. Trust me, even a million dollar tax increase to a billionaire is nothing compared to $1000 tax increase to a family earning $30,000 a year. The way I look at it is that those who are wealthy have benefited extensively from those have purchased their products...etc; and the wealthy need the middle class in order to remain

yoursecretnemesis Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - wealthy in this country. If they want to keep making money (because the economy is stimulated by consumer, or middle class, spending) they need to put spare money back into the economy. It's simple...the "trickle down effect" simply does not work; which is way we've seen an increased gap in the salary difference between the middle class vs the wealthy. The wealthiest 5% continue to get wealthier (largely by avoiding taxes via loopholes in the tax code), while inflation eats up the middle class.

putittogether Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - We need to cut the budget by 35%, below total tax current revenue. If we did that we could free the American slave from the tyrannical State. This would free up a tremendous amount of money, for the newly freed slaves, to give, in their own community's, and help those whom may still be in need after being freed.

John04Civic Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - No thanks. You help you, and I will help me. If I want to give you money, I'll give it to you, but I don't want you to take it from me.

John04Civic Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I'm doing his plan right now and it really has set our money on track. I now am able to watch our dollars MUCH more closely than previously. His plan is awesome. I don't agree with all the religion stuff, because I'm atheist, but his plan is spot on for money management.

zeto34 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - i dont what god has to do with taxes.

zeto34 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - *i dont know what

atemyplate Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I am poor. But I do not believe in the transfer of wealth. Just like Dave says, we need to work harder not expect others to do it for us.

bbbokkk Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - when i grossed $250 a week i took home $192....years later and alot of hours more and when i make $1,580 i take home $950....when i worked alot less i took home about 78% , when i worked alot harder and more i only took home about 60%.....thats our reward for working harder and trying to improve our situation in life , the govt. just takes a higher percentage of our salary....as if 78% of $1,580 wasnt alot more than 78% of $250 to begin with!!!

HolyCowMan21 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Steve Forbes was right all those years ago when he advocated for a flat tax. It's the fairest way to tax. Every pays an equal portion of that which they have earned. Millionaires still pay millions and those who are poor pay only a small amount. Dave Ramsey is spot on!

Beefliverpie Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - The best thing for government to do for me is to leave me alone!!!

bapyou Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - "The best thing for government to do for me is to leave me alone!"What have they done to you?

bapyou Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - President Barack Hussein Obama.

chrispolk76 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Poor is a state of mind, not a socioeconomic condition. Broke is temporary, poor is eternal.
