Dec 2, 2008 - My dad tried telling me about it when I was a young teen and it simply was not important to me. Coming from that region of the world, His skin tone would have an olive hue to it and surely facial features of the tribe of Judah.Always a pleasure to see you.Shalom in Yesu,Mark

Dec 2, 2008 - dont give into symbolism, even if those you trust says its right. Find out for yourself, use your own mind, ask the questions no one bothers to ask. Seek your own truth.Maybe thats just my opinion.

RaptureMe2 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - contd- The background is peach, He wears a white robe, and has the brightest blue eyes that you will ever see. Google images of Jesus and you will find this picture. When you do, look at the eyes. They will blow you away. If you ever wanted to know what Jesus looks like, those eyes will tell you.....He looks just like love.If you could physically see love, that's Jesus.

RaptureMe2 Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Those photos are really disgusting. But to elaborate on the real point, no one since the time Jesus walked the earth, can possibly know what He looked like, and the only thing the Bible tells us is that He had no form or cumliness that anyone should desire Him.I have a few "pictures" of Jesus in my home but when I pray, I don't kneel before them. That is idolatry. There is however, a most beautiful painting of Jesus by a woman who's name I can't remember. cont-

Dec 2, 2008 - It seems you are taking something you saw on a TV show over and above the years of research that Norbert H. Kox has put into the subject matter of this video and he has promised to re-address this issue with you when time permits.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - The following is a comment I removed in error and was made by the "spreadthegospel" channel. The picture of Jesus did not start in 1940! There is an ancient 12th century mosaic of Jesus Christ shown in the Christian TV show Travel the Road.

standfastinthefaith Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - There is a big difference than saying such pictures are false portrayals of Christ than to create blasphemous paintings such as these. IMO, these are no different than the "piss christ" photo. They were created only for shock value. I find it offensive. Just my thoughts.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I do not think I can reply to you without offending you.If I can come up with something I will share it with you."Just my thoughts."Keep thinking.

standfastinthefaith Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Let's look at what we can agree on;1: these western painting are false or unfaithful portrayals of Christ. 2: We shouldn't need pictures and icons in our worship (we're even told not to)3: The orginal painting promotes outware beauty and appeal which is biblical inacurate concerning God's ways. There are probably more points we can agree on the matter but that is the three biggies. My only objection was manor (or lack) of tact the artist used.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Let me make the assumption that you never knew Warner Sallman's "Head of Christ" was a forgery. In spite of the volumes written about it, it took a shot between the eyes that got your attention to the recognize the truth in that matter.Jesus is the Truth. The artist is a child of the living God.Comparing him to the artist responsible for "piss christ" may not be blasphemy, but it ...I think you can mentally fill that in for me better than I can socially post anything I would be happy with later.

standfastinthefaith Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Warner Sallman's ripping off another artist and calling it his own. No I was unaware of that till this video. I wasn't comparing the artist's person to the evil person that created "piss christ". Only comparing the tactic used. If I was unclear, I apologize. As for the "shot between the eyes"...I don't give into such ways. I would rather listen to want you have to say. Which I have, and I agree with you and the artist on principle. Again, my issue is the manner in which it was expressed

standfastinthefaith Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - correction; I would rather listen to what you have to say.

standfastinthefaith Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Let me just say, it was never my intent to offend you or bro Kox. I was just expressing my opinion on the art itself.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I am the writer. He is the artist. There were literary pieces on Sallman before the artwork, that was my point.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - correction- He is an artist/writer.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - The "piss christ" and "Picture Perfect Jesus" both offended me. Apparently that shows our minds to be similar. One piece of artwork is to offend the truth of glory and the other piece of artwork is defend glory in truth. Worldly murder trials in courtrooms get pretty gruesome. It takes grotesque proof to convict the thinking of twelve diverse personalities. The "piss christ" is demonically inspired and succeeds in satisfying individual hatred of the Christ portrayed for hundreds of years.

gtoutofthawrld Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I want to tell you that the icon you have is not blasphemous because that is a FALSE image of Christ anyway. research CESARE BORGIA the son of the 6th pope alexander, look at his picture and you will see that cesare looks EXACTLY like this false image of christ excepted and worshipped worldwide.I like people who realize this falsehood like you do, not to be rascist haughty or pridefull but CHRIST was a man of black/brown skin of ethnic descent, if u study history, true history this is undeniable

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Are you including present day olive tone skin residents of today in your grouping of black/brown skin people living where the Christ did when He lived there?...or do you mean like the white man replaced the red man in dominance in the United States of America, like everyone was black/brown in Christ's time and is now olive toned in skin colorization?

gtoutofthawrld Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - as far as i know the olive hue you are refering to is brown anyway.I don't believe that everyone in the days of Christ , in isreal in his day were all the same "race",I do believe the 12 tribes of isreal make up most of the different so called minority nations in this world,as the Bible tells us as a curse 4 disobedience the 12 tribes would b scattered around the earth & sold into slavery i.e the "african" slave trade.my skin color is a olive hue,& i am a so called "negroe".

gtoutofthawrld Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Revelation 2:9know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and ARE NOT, but are the synagogue of Satan.(this verse is refering to ALL of these EUROPEAN jews that DONT except Christ)in the book of deutoronomy 28:15-68, the curse that has been place on the nation of isreal(jews)in these verses is EVERYTHING that happen to the negroe people, read it man you will be amazed.its very eye opening.Peace

warfareofspirit Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Romans 10:9 (King James Version)9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Very true. After all of the videos of close up talking mouths I figured I would stick with what we have. :^)God bless you

gigglesinthesun Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - I hope that Christians know that Jesus wasn't this pretty. I would hope that there aren't any Christians that would worship the image of a man. The Scriptures says that Jesus appearance was not comely, which means he may have been rather homely to look at. When we see His Holy Spirit revealed, He will be the Loveliest being of light, and nothing else will ever compare in beauty to Him!!! We won't want to take our eyes off of Him!!!continued...

gigglesinthesun Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - continued...The world loves beautiful things, don't they? Well, Jesus our Lord, was the cornerstone that the builders rejected. He was not lovely to look at. That is the test, or at least one of them.Had Jesus been beautiful, like the actresses and actors of Hollywood, for example, then sure, the whole earth would have groveled and drooled. We, who are His little lambs, we know Him in a far deeper way than the physical. We see His Spirit, His Holy Spirit.

AnotherBrotherMark Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - "We see His Spirit, His Holy Spirit."Amen.
