Should be convict KKKarl Rove aka Turdblossom whining about and distorting Barack Obama's tax plan, and upset that the 'gubment might actually want those in the upper 2% of income earners to pay their share and go back to tax rates under the Clinton administration when somehow the country was doing pretty well then despite all of his doom and gloom of what those changes might mean for the country. My main question is why is Rove allowed to be on the air spreading lies instead of sitting in a jail cell? Congress needs to grow a set and deal with this man.

Jul 18, 2008 - Yes Hannity - All those taxes AND state, local, and Federal on top of that (federal on top of federal?)

Whoo69 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - I'm sick of all the whining the Republicans do about taxes. Deal with it! That's price of democracy. Just pay and quit bitching that the gov't might actually may the rich pay their fair share for a change. It's not "punishing" the rich; it's putting the burden on those who can actually afford to pay more. These Republicans need to grow some balls and realize the rich are not a bunch of weaklings. They can deal with fucking taxes.

MrMoroccan Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - hahahah "gubment"

driubi Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - social security isn't suppose to be a tax you ass fuck

covertone81 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Is it just me or does anybody else think that it is impossible to take this "political analyst" role seriously when its Karl Rove discussing Bush policies as if he is objective in the whole thing. Furthermore, does it really help McCain who claims that is is in fact different that Bush to have Karl Rove talking about how great his policies are?

nicolenigro Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - They used to be small government. The neocons are Troskyites (spelling?), which is about as "left wing" as you can get. They took over the opposite party. Which would be funny if it wasn't so fuckin' sad. And scary.

blair227 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Repugs got us into the mess and since they are the party of the rich and privilaged they should tax all registered repugs 99.9%.BTW,why is this soon to be convicted felon talking when he won't speak to Congress? Everything on this segment was a lie or distortion.

gallomex13 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - yeah sure we can pay less taxes with republicans but then look at what we get, a shitty goverment that eventually we will pay in other ways like wars, and gas prices, and losing homes. I'll rather pay a little more tax than dealing with the bullshit that comes from cheap products like the republican party.

moejardines Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Amen. Last time I checked, during WWII people were actually sacrificing for the effort. The idea you can CUT taxes and run a bunch of foreign wars is the reason that there's 9.4 TRILLION of debt. Taxes are the cover charge for getting into this awesome party we call America. The rich in the USA live better than the emperors of ancient rome because the lower classes work for and defend them from predation. Taxes merely pay for the guys that keep the proletariat from taking your shit.

observer855 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - i'm a registered Democrat, and an Obama supporter, but statemenets like yours drive me crazy. The top 10% of income earners pay 70% of our taxes..repeat 70%..they pay more taxes in absolute terms, and they pay more as a percent of their overall income. What do you mean..they should pay "their fair share", they are paying much more then you and I!I think us Dems would get farther if we actually made reasonable arguments.

getplaning Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Republicans have political answers to economic problems. That's why Karl Rove's strategy for 2006 cost the Republicans their majority in Congress, despite their efforts to suppress the opposition vote.I hope Republicans continue to listen to this fool.

edexcelb Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Republican voters are so stupid, look at the list of the 15 poorest states in the US, they all voted Republican at the last election lol - yet they pay the same percentage of tax as a doctor or accountant on $200k with the same cost of living haha - DUMB DUMB DUMB The 15 richest all but 2, voted Democratic and those two are expected to switch in 08.

i81b4u2003 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Fair and Balanced My ass!Fair for the liars and criminalsBalanced for the RICH.

wervasdeferens Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - edexcelb ,Exactly,On AOL today they listed the most obese states. What do you know, its the same states. Poorest, least educated,fattest..damn!The South has risen! Yeehaw!

wervasdeferens Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - observer855,You're right, but the top 10% also own 70%+ of the nations wealth. Fair is fair!

swankrecords Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Nobody trusts Rove. Just l 'em speak and Obama will win.

William111061 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Well, for the GOP modus operandi, just listen to"Only A Pawn In Their Game", by the incomparableBob Dylan.

William111061 Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Only us peasants have to sacrifice and pay taxes, you see. And we are getting good and fedup with it!During WWII we had two great leaders - FDR andbriefly Harry Truman - who were for the people, not what old Harry later called "the gluttons ofprivilege."

moejardines Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - Fair arguement but:The rich are VERY rich, beyond the dreams of the average person. Its very easy to sell "fairness" to people who suck at math and don't appreciate the magnitude of the disparity. Also, there's this ridiculous part of the Amercian mind: They will be rich one day. People don't want to tax the rich, because they want to BE rich, and believe its only a matter of getting lucky. The top 1% hold about 40% of all the wealththe top 20% holds just over 90% " "Reasonable?

jeffreymcneill Says:

Jul 18, 2008 - This is hilarious. Only people who can't do math would think that McCain would lower taxes on anyone who makes less than $250k. Millionaires on Fox arguing for their own tax cut. Total B.S.

lamperoneagain Says:

Jul 19, 2008 - Thank you Rove, for giving the president advice that you thaught were best for America and not advice that you thaught would keep the GOP in power. You are a true american patriot.

observer855 Says:

Jul 20, 2008 - respectfully I don't really think that the disparity between the rich and the poor necassarily proves that anything is unfair. Micheal Jordan scores WAY more baskets than you or I ever could..WAY more..does that mean that the game of basketball is unfair? Or has he simply much more talented and worked much much harder to acquire his basketabll skills? At both ends of the spectrum 'luck' plays a role, but most people who are weatlhy/poor earn what they earn due to their own actions/inaction.

thlives Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - MJ could prevent other players from scoring some baskets because he played against them and actually played defense too. When businesses or their owners/employees play aggressive defense it's called monopoly. These "rich" might be the best at their game, but when they use these tactics to block shots and make it impossible for anyone else to be the best at the game they can be, it's unethical. Do you think George Mikan should have been free to continue what he was doing regarding goaltending?

observer855 Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - that's an interesting point. To continue the analogy, while goaltending takes place in the NBA, I think it is a rarity. Present day, (not 20 years ago) I really don't think there are are very many people trying to "keep the lower class down". Even if there are, I don't think high taxes do anything to help the situation.

thlives Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - It depends on who you're taxing. Rove yet again fails to elaborate on this. The statistics he's giving are for people in the "top bracket" of wealth, not people that are now struggling. The increased taxes (actually reinstated taxes from before Bush's cuts) would be for people that already make over 200 or 250 thousand dollars a year. Those cuts meant more cash in wealthy people's pockets. Whether they intend to or not, by not paying taxes they are contributing to major problems.
