Good info here:http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/47631.html"Putin's intentions are to expel Georgia from South Ossetia and Abkhazia of course, but also to force regime change in the Georgian Capital by installing a puppet government and prevent Georgia from joining NATO, using Georgia as an example to the Ukraine who is also considering NATO membership, and to control all the oil pipelines from the heart of Russia to the black sea and ultimately to redraw some of the former Soviet boundaries.Putin has been actively nationalizing Russia's oil industry for the past decade, he has broken contracts with Foreign Companies and has seized their private property without any kind of due process, outright theft from companies like British Petroleum. He has been steadily working towards forcing some kind of conflict with Georgia over South Ossetia as was evidenced by his move to give all Ossetians Russian Citizenship some time ago, effectively using their 'protected status' as a pretext to invade Georgia. The old soviets have been at it for awhile anyway as shown by their succesful assasination and previous failed attempts of a long-time outspoken defector. Putin has also made things difficult for the United States by opposing us in the security council of the United Nations and by arming Iran and helping them obtain Nukes. Putin has been calculating, planning, moving chess pieces into place. He has been waiting, patiently for the right time. Now was the right time."

Nov 23, 2008 - Are you reading off cue cards? Amazing how you critisize the media, which I agree with....then still manage to get the story wrong. Georgia was denied NATO membership before this went down - so that was off. Furthermore...If you were being attacked, with women & children being butchered, where would you run? Would you run directly at the people killing your family? NO, you would run the opposite direction. The refugees ran to Russia, Georgia was the agressor. Israel supplied weapons.

shwantz2 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - If Russia tried to line up missile defense systems in Cuba or Canada or Mexico, we would be agressive about Russians getting their shit off our borders. They feel the same way. You can label Russia the bad guy in your feeble mind, but I suggest more study on "false flag operations" & American Foreign policy before you video commentary to the world. Esseantially you just gave the world video & audio proof that your an idiot. Hey everyone! Look at me, im completely stupid. Public education?

shwantz2 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Nobody likes America anymore...delussional? Where have you been? You are only good for taking ordes from the "administration" nothing more. Now go die & be the hero for Oil.

margiani777 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Russia should have taken all the Ossetians back to their ancestral land north of the Caucasian mountains long ago - that's where they came from fleeing Mongols, when found refuge in Georgia in XII century. And the US were not the ones who were meticulously creating tensions that escalated to the conflict in the region - it was Russia, they were planning all this since 1990, when the Soviet Union colapsed. Now they are trying to reanimate it, and the Georgia is the first target. Who is next?

Cossakfreedon Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Ukraine,is it hard question? When country is collapsed country must be united as States in Cuvil war

whoyouare13 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - As everyone else is aware, mccain cheated on his first wife of 14 years with his current sugar mamma. Fox news haniity gets OWNED by his cohost Colmes on this very subject. Watch Hannity gets OWNED by Colmes. I can think of two more "warmongers" George Bush and his apprentice John Mccain. They both want war,but don't want to support the troops that fight those wars. As proven with mccains voting record on those issues.

margiani777 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Yes, you are probably right, as they already giving out the Russian passports in the Crimea. Sounds familiar?

margiani777 Says:

shihonage Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - I lived in former USSR for 17 years (till mid-1994). Past 1991 hell broke loose. People lost their life savings to inflation, nationalist wars exploded in formerly peaceful republics, quality of life fell, depression, chaos.Putin strikes me as a balanced tyrant. He is exactly what Russia needs today. A strong lead who gets his hands dirty. He's smarter than many politicians. He is not crazy, and he will not allow for WW3. Russia needed a Father figure with a belt, and he makes a damn good one.

RevolutionOfCG Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - I appreciate your perspective, it is unique and needed for this discussion.I would say WW3 is out of the question, but do you think that another cold war might be on the horizon?Thank you for you input and reply.

shihonage Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Russians have been known to cry upon entering an American grocery store for the first time. It is a feeling of realization of irreparable theft that Communism did to quality of one's life.Thousands of new words appeared in Russian language since 1991, all taken directly from American equivalents.Pull of American quality (movies, food, clothes) and cultural influence is very strong. America IS the image of capitalism, and Russian people won't let themselves to be isolated from it for long.

shihonage Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Sure, people living in former USSR now have this kind of "I don't care for America" attitude, but it is all a show. They still drink American soda and watch American films. They're jealous, unsure of their identity anymore, because the country lost it.Hence, I see Putin as "a beneficial evil" for Russian identity, with his showy military parades and cracking down on mafia. He's the intensive care unit for Russia's immune system. Thats his fate. Then he will be purged naturally from the body.

Kypezzz Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - shihonage -> so true

sukhumskie Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - listen to this people and they are calling this guy a lier. you are 100% right and that is fact look what they have done to chechnya about 40.000 only women and children has been killed. chechens trully fought for freedom not like abkhazians and ossetians kremlin poppets for those risons rreal ossetian separatists real fighters for ossetian futuree pleople like Sanakoev today are teamed up with georgian government when 10 years ago they fought against georgia.what about chechen independets

RevolutionOfCG Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - WE DON'T NEED TO WORRY.McCain and the RNC are holding their powder until the last few weeks of the campaign to unleash $160 million in ads in battleground states. Obama does not have that kind of money left. Not even close. The NRA is laying down at least $40 million and Freedoms Watch, a conservative GOP PAC has $200-250 million. Obama is going to get hit from all angles non-stop. A barrage. He will crumble and not be able to get up because he has a weak chin and an even weaker character.
