hello every oneMy currently place of employment the buffalo news- has not been the best at publishing many positive/powerful minority stories. Sadly in the city of buffalo the minority reader-ship isn't to high. My intention are to prove to them that minorites stories are something of importance and if you reach out to a new demographic that some will reach back.Attached to this link is the story they published for the aka 100 year celebration- all I ask is that you watch it, or just let it play and pass it along- the more views it gets the more credible it becomes. PLease help me prove that people are interested in minority stories that have nothing to do with crime.http://video.ap.org/v/Default.aspx?partner=en-ap&t=s1192637910776&ns=VC_Supplier&p=NYBUE&f=NYBUE

Jul 22, 2008 - congratulations but it would be nice if the doll reflected all shades of the ladies of AKA

Jul 22, 2008 - what do you mean?

ilovbradd Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - my mom was there...that's my future. lol :p

LuckiiCharmz85 Says:

Jul 23, 2008 - exactly what I said. I feel the doll Mattell made just further feeds into the stereotype that all AKAs are lightskinned with long hair...which they are not.

Jul 23, 2008 - ph yeah. i know what you mean now. Back in 1908, they were known for being light skinned...hmm...

Jul 31, 2008 - Unfortunately, you cannot please everyone. There is nothing wrong with the shade of the AKA doll. If she was darker then someone would have had a problem with that. I was there and I had a blast. I love my AKA!!!!

Aug 9, 2008 - I want to go back! :) It was an awesome experience at every turn I had a sister near. Washington DC was in awe a few cabs that I got into the drivers couldn't believe that all these women were members much less college educated (at min.). The Barbie is BIG! Soror Barbara has a business sense that is out of this world. Oh well, I am hopeful that I am blessed to share my next boule with my niece as an aunt and Soror. :)
