Chapter 2 Part 2Finally the boys couldn't take it anymore and they jumped into the fishing boat, paddling as fast as they could to reach the trampoline.Kristy nudged Liz and whispered, "What are you gonna do when he gets here?" she pointed at Joe.Liz hadn't thought about that. Then she smiled, "I know exactly what I'm gonna do."As soon as Joe stepped foot onto the trampoline Liz pounced on Joe, knocking him into the water. She then proceeded to pull Kristy and Mandy into the water with herself. Nick and Kevin were both still in the boat and they watched the water curiously waiting for something to happen.Then the boat tipped and Kevin and Nick found themselves being laughed at by the others. Nick spit out a mouthful of water and Kevin grabbed Joe in a headlock yelling, "How could you turn against us little bro?"Joe broke free and replied, "She persuaded me." He grinned, pointing at Liz.The six decided that they were going to go into town and so they headed back to land, dunking one another as they went.The girls threw on ripped jean shorts, tanks, and big sunglasses. When they got downstairs Kevin, Nick, and Joe were all wearing their usual attire of tight pants and fashionable shirts with sunglasses?After all of them had piled into one minivan Kevin revved up the car engine and headed to the closest mall. They spent hours shopping at every store imaginable.However, all good things must come to an end and this one did with a bang. Just as they were about to leave a shout of, "Oh my Jonas!" caused the six friends to turn around and see a camera go off. Kevin, Joe, and Nick grabbed Mandy, Liz, and Kristy by the hands and raced into the car.Kevin slammed onto the gas and they sped off back to the lake. No one said a word until they finally got inside and Joe exclaimed, "Shit!""Joe watch it!" Kevin threatened."Dad!" Nick yelled.Mr. Jonas walked into the hallway, still laughing from a joke that Mr. Lane had just told. "What is it boys?""Someone got a picture of us," Joe explained hurriedly.Mr. Jonas almost dropped the beer he was holding. "No!""Yeah," Kevin corrected.Mr. Jonas whipped out his cell phone and said, "I'm calling Lars. We can't let a story run about this."Kevin nodded."Boys come tell me exactly what happened."Kristy, Liz, and Mandy were left in the hall. Eventually they went upstairs.Kristy was bombarding Liz with questions about how good of a kisser Joe was and Mandy went into her room to think.The next morning when Liz woke up she heard yelling and crying coming from Kristy's room.Liz stood up and raced into Kristy's room to find Nick yelling and Kristy sobbing into her hands and sitting on her bed. Nick turned around when Liz entered the room. "Why are you yelling at her?" Liz yelled as she sat next to Kristy and cradled her in her arms.In reply Nick chucked the magazine that he was holding to the floor and on the cover was a picture of Nick, Kevin, Joe, Liz, Kristy, and Mandy at the mall."What does that have to do with..." but Liz stopped. In a smaller picture on the front was Kristy's best friend with a caption that read, 'Friend Tips Off Press'.Liz stared at Kristy and then stood up and yelled, "Get out!" at Nick. He stormed off. Liz slammed the door shut behind him."Jerk," Liz muttered."Don't be mad at him. Its my fault that they got spotted." Kristy choked out."Kristy its not your fault! Its your best friends fault!""What ever."Kristy flung her covers over her head and said, "Just leave me alone."Liz opened her mouth to say something but she couldn't think of what to say so she left.As soon as Liz had shut the door behind her, Joe appeared. "Hey is she okay?" he asked."I don't know. She was pretty upset though."Joe sighed saying, "Nick can be a little...mean sometimes.""A little?"Joe laughed but when he saw that Liz was really upset he pulled her towards him and held her close saying, "Its okay. I'm sure she'll be fine. I'll make Nick apologize."Liz kissed Joe's cheek and whispered, "You're the best." Then she went into her room to keep worrying.
