Also, people in groups claim phobia is to hate but I agree with you that it is actually to fear. Hence, the english language, being less in-tune with the emotions than its ancient counterparts, is unable to do justice to the experiences of the heart. for eg, the word love 'love' tends to do overtime in the english language whereas the the ancients had at least 4/5 separate words for this emotion ( eros, philia...)
