Dec 5, 2008 - As someone who actually has a G1 as of 10-17 i can say i had many doubts about this device. I love the G1 but its not perfect, its potential is great. For example the hardware is pretty substantial, its a dual core qualcomm processor!! Plenty of memory and upgradabilty with sd cards. The android os is surprisingly hardy. I managed to crash it with a program that was unstable but the system came back quickly. Everythings open source so it will only get better. No stereo bluetooth or 3.5 jack.

Dec 5, 2008 - Although this phone isn't as stylish as the iPhone, I think that it's functionally a better piece of technology.I steer away from Apple products anyway since I found out that Al Gore is on their board. I think that the man is a crock. It seems like Apple pushes agendas more than it promotes its products.

Dec 5, 2008 - if u are new to tmobile or if u register for a new sim card/number u will get the phone for 180$ 35$ for unlimted texting and internet. 25$ for unlimted internet and hlaf text messaging. must have the 2 year conrtact if u want 180$. Total for 300$ if just the phone. but if i was u i rather get the 180 one cuz less money save money live better.

Dec 5, 2008 - Not that I endorse them in any way shape or form, but Wal*Mart has it for $40 less than T-Mobile right now as part of an exclusive deal. Still, I think I'll cough up the extra $40 just to not have to step inside a Wal*Mart.

Dec 5, 2008 - It doesn't have the iconic and polished design of the iPhone but it's a fantastic start for the Android platform. A couple of my friends at work have these and they have some really nice features. Still, I'm wondering if I should wait for a couple more Android phones to come out before picking one up. What do you think?
fissionchips303 Says:
Dec 5, 2008 - Google Apps for your Domain? I think that's all web-page-driven stuff so it should handle it just fine. Isn't Google Apps just a bunch of web pages where you can administrate web/email accounts and stuff? Not sure if there is a Google apps widget or not, but the G1 ships with a WebKit web browser (the same engine behind Safari and Chrome). So you can certainly visit the web interfaces and access them that way.I'm sure in the future a Google Apps widget will be made, if there isn't one already
CocolutoBeans Says:
Dec 5, 2008 - I'd wait, personally.I'm holding out for the G2, or other phones.I'm hoping they will have a standard head-phone jack and a more stylish design.
fissionchips303 Says:
Dec 5, 2008 - ya thanks for the advice, it seems first generation phones always have some goofs. So yeah, maybe I'd be better off waiting .. any idea when G2 comes out? I know some other Android phones will be out in a few months but haven't heard anything specific ...
nagarjun424 Says:
Dec 5, 2008 - Yes, Apps for your own domain. They are all web driven and yes, the browser is decent. But, I wanted to know if the push Gmail like feature that you can use with normal Gmail accounts works with Google Apps email accounts. I really like MS Exchange's push email system and this is similar but, I didn't see anything on this issue for Apps users. So, I was wondering if it works that way. If it does, MS has some SERIOUS competition.
